My wifes Dell laptop is an i7 at 3.5ghz,12gb ram and a 580m graphics card. was over a $1500 laptop
It is got a bit more umph than yours and all it does while playing a game as low quality compared to BF4 standards is stutter really bad, freezes for a second here and there and shows graphical artifacts until the laptop just shuts down.
When it was new it was fine, did great but the laptop housing is such a bad design it would run too hot and eventually that has damaged the processor to the point that what I said above happens with any game.We bought her laptop described as a "Gaming Laptop".
Lesson learned with Dell laptops.
Spent another $800 and built her new pc at the time
Case,MB,3.6ghz AMD CPU,8gb ram,1 tb had,560 GPU. plus all the other parts required for a desktop.Spent half the price and got a much better gaming pc.
Im not trying talk bad about your laptop so much as I know dell is just bad at the exterior designs, especially at the time when that 555m was considered current spec card.
Asus Gaming laptops are much better quality from what I have seen and heard,I know there at least 2 geezers that did run them in the past.
And yeah,I could see any laptop just melting trying to run Star Citizen...BIG CR fan here,I will be playing a lot myself. Some other geezers here also have pledged for it.
Me I have a Cutlass Black,Freelancer DUR,Drake Herald and the Reliant. Cant wait for PU to go live.Statistics: Posted by nervustwitch — Thu May 28, 2015 11:08 pm
