Just found a new feature.
Windows Key +G opens the game bar.
Allows screenshots,record video clips and I think it also works the XB1 record feature.Not sure exactly how it works but seems simple to use and the possible no need for even more crap to be running in my task bar.

Well I have Windows 10 installed and I have already crashed it once, lol. Apparently Nvidia drivers are not up to par as I am having a heck of a time getting them to install right without windows messing up on me again. Anyone else run into this issue?

Also just a note. I did try the latest qualified drivers from Nvidia that were released on the 29th.

No problems with mine and Nvidia.
When I first started up 10 my drivers wouldnt load and I downloaded them and they didnt install,all I did was reboot and everything was fine and has been since.Played some games and no issues as of yet.

This might be useful for windows 10 Home users. I have not tried it but it for Nvidia users that have driver issues.
I'm going to try it since I do not like installing Nvidia drivers on release day,I like to wait a week or 2,anyone remember the driver that was melting GPU's a few years back...well thats why I wait now.

NVM,that tool was mostly useless.
But it is used to block troubled drivers for auto install

So why go with 10. Just wondering as I still run Win 7 pro on all my current PCs?

It has DirectX 12 which is suppose to give a 20% increase in performance.No dx12 games yet but I read an article yesterday where a game studio has one in development and let them use it to test dx12. The benchmark did show a 20% boost plus better graphics.

10 is similar a small bit to 8.1 but its like they took the good from 7 and 8.1 and left most all the bad out. The only thing I hate about 10 is the forced windows update on the Home version,pro they can be disabled.Home does allow you to turn off hardware updates though.
The home version has work a rounds to disable them I just havent tried it yet.

I did come across an issue this weekend with 10 though. I was trying to use my Saitek x52 HOTAS for a game and was getting lockups and controller disconnects. But it was a driver issue,got it working fine now.

I will have to think long and hard before I update to 10. BTW doesnt that now require a yearly subscription?

There is no subs,its just like the other windows versions.
Its all free updates and everything.

Be careful what web sites you read because the were too many theories as to why it was free...most all of them are not true.

It really is a nice OS.I think it is much better that 7 was. There are some differences in the menus like settings and such but honestly its all so easy to find and locate now.
They still left the older menus there that are used in 7 but it also has a newer windows 10 version that just simplified the menus.

Also so far any game I have tried has worked without doing anything to them at all. I have about 280 steam games installed, about 20-25 Origin games,around 20 GOG Galaxy games,and around another 30 games all installed right now and I have randomly tried them and played without issue. Some of those games are some of the old Sierra Online Quest games from the 80's.

Also here are some of Microsofts options.
You have a year to use your free upgrade,then afterwards you will need to buy it.
Once you upgrade you will have 30 days to give 10 a try.If you dont like it before your 30 days are up you are able to downgrade back to your previous OS.
But also keep in mind that if you decide to use 10 past the 30 days it voids your old OS product key.So really its not completely a free upgrade,your just get to trade in your old OS.
You can download a new program from Microsoft called MediaCreationToolX64 that will make a DVD or USB disk for you to put your copy of windows 10 on,worked great for me and so simple to use.You just click a couple ok buttons and it does it everything on its on.
Another thing to remember is after you install 10,you need to locate your product key and product ID and keep safe for later if you need to do a clean install.I used a simple Microsoft product key program to give me mine. Anyone wants I will put in the teamspeak server.I will put it under the Battlefield Series channel.
