We were successfully moved to a new box, however, there are still issues with KF2 and the custom maps. It appears, according to John, that every time we start a KF2 server, it has to read all the custom content ................ this causes such high disc usage that causes game play issues. He is still investigating what is going on and trying to find solutions and fixes.

As it stands, I can only predict that you/we will having gaming issues when trying to play such as lag, freezes, long map loads or dropped connections until he finds the problem and if he can fix it.

Sorry for this but it happens. If the redirect method was not also filled with issues, we could always go that route, but, as it stands, we would trade one set of headaches for another!

I will be heading out of town early tom. morning, Friday the 14th and won't be home until Sunday night. Will pick back up on it Monday morning.

Not putting conspiracy theories out there, but...going into Filters on KF2 I find it suspicious that 1) there are almost no non-stock maps listed, and 2) there is an overabundance of TripWire servers. Methinks the problem is not isolated to just us...
Just saying!

I am home now. The message I got from John at NFO is that server #2 is the only one still constantly checking the Custom Maps causing the high HD usage. I am going to do some checking on it now.

John recommends removing the custom content from server #2 for now, which I will probably end up doing. When I do that, I will also begin to slowly add the custom maps to server #1 and see what happens.

Ok, clarification............. all the KF2 servers were doing this constant check.

My next step, which John agrees with, is to "Wipe" all our KF2 servers, even #1 again and start from there. I will schedule this for tonight.

In the morning, I will add some custom maps to #1 for testing and go from there.

Like John said, wiping them and at least have them be able to play Steam Workshop maps even if some will download and some won't is better than the high HD usage that renders all the servers pretty much unplayable.

Welcome back Fireman.
My earlier post...I cannot find any Canville RM, Defense Thyself, Pyramid, Mira's...maps running on any servers!
This can't be a coincidence. It's gotta be a TW issue. Are they trying to force Vanilla Servers?

***Okay I found one or two empty servers running these maps. I've not gone in to see if I can play but will try that and report back.

You played 6 with no issues because only 1 and 6 were running AND 6 does not have as many custom maps loaded on it.

This morning, after the wipe of all our KF2 servers last night, I went and set all our KF2 servers up with the correct info in the Engine.ini and Game.ini files so they show up as GeezerGaming # blah as before, with the correct gameplay, WebAdmin PW, MOTD and info.

All the servers have fresh new files and are running stock maps for now. All are up , running and open to the public.

#6 has been set to Weekly, #7 and #8 set to Endless. All have different difficulties and lengths.

Tomorrow, I will load up Custom maps on #1 and see which ones download. Some may not, and those that do not download will be removed as they are the problem causers. Hopefully, this will get us back to where we were before, minus the problem files.
